This is why I love to Sail

The search to get the most efficent thrust for the electric propulsion unit.  Because a sailboat is a displacement hull you have limits on speed.  One of the ways you can increase your thrust is to increase the effiency of the propeller.  One way is to enclose, or place it in a close fitting tunnel to help eliminate prop wash from the outer tips.  The motion of water must move horizonal rather that slip off the tips to be wasted for forward movement.
