This is why I love to Sail

The choice was made to Gel-Coat rather than paint, durability and lasting color was the main reason, even though it's a little more work.

After the old port openings were filled with foam panels, a layer of Mat and a layer of 17 OZ. Bi ax cloth were installed with Polyster resin, then a layer of "Shmooooo" (Polyster resin with Silica to thicken) the side was flat and ready to do the Gel-Coat......  Lots of work but it will be worth the effort, I keep telling myself that......chuckle, IT WILL BE WORTH THE EFFORT....

I'm really glad to see her start coming together.  I think the no port look, looks good, no ports, no leaks....chuckle   I think we'll do some test sails with no ports, that should give someone a good chuckle.......Hummm, the stealth look......

With Doc John doing the mixing and me doing the application things went pretty fast, until we got the first drop of rain....  bummer....the rainy season is finally here.....work until 2:00, then stop, because you know it's going to rain.......

Installing the Bobstay, finally......  The bobstay on my boat serves 2 purposes, one for support of the bowsprit and one to hold the bow thurster and depth finder.  I want the bow thruster to be able to move sideways or turn around in close quarters, the depth finder will be mounted to the thruster motor .(which is removable when not needed)  Going into shallow waters I wanted the extra protection, "before" hitting bottom.......what a neat thought......chuckle
