This is why I love to Sail

It all starts with the "Shaft"

Most sailors can't wait to shut the engine noise off and let the wind take them where they want to go, I'm no different.  Will, maybe a little different, I don't even want to turn the noise on in the first place.  That quiet, non virbrating peace and quiet is one of the reasons I enjoy sailing as much as I do.  A friend of mine, James Baldwin, gave me the incentive to investigate the use of Electric Drive in my rebuild of this Classic Plastic craft.  The nudge was all I really needed, I love new stuff, experimenting, using past experiences to make things happen.

One of my "oldest living friends" Rich Petruschke works for a local Electronics firm in the Bay area.  He is the reason that I have a main shaft for this rebuild project.  Rich and I worked as tooling engineers for a company in the Miami area a long time ago and have stayed in touch over many miles and many years.  With his help and the use of his machine shop we were able to turn out the special things needed to make Redeemed go the electric route, many thanks to you Rich, and to Dorothy (his wife) for allowing us to have some free evenings.
