This is why I love to Sail

A super liferaft, play, fast, able to carry big things and fun, that's a pretty tall order, but can be done......

Electric is the way to do

This is a sit-on-top totally inclosed Kayak.  It will be perfect for the electric pods that set between the pontoons and should work very well when poled together to make a stable platform barge to move things from shore to the boat when dock facilities are not available, which could be most of the time.......

This unit is a 36 lb thrust dual prop and should provide more than enough thrust to take the work out of fighting currents or wind to get back to the boat.

After doing a little bit of experimenting I've decided that a thrust tunnel will add much more efficency and a great place to mount a steering rudder with the tube giving support to the top and bottom of the shaft.  I'll use an aluminum rod connected to a steering tiller in front of driver.

This unit is the same unit that I had mounted on my 21 ft San Juan rudder, amazing steering control when docking the SJ.  I could almost spin it on a dime and give 2 nickles change........  I'm building an "easy" mount so that it can be removed while sailing and then re-installed for motoring back in the canal.
